Social context, including where people are born, grow, live, work and age directly affect their health outcomes. The unequal exposure to environmental, behavioural and social risk factors can lead to physical health conditions, such as high blood pressure, which in turn can lead to the development of non-communicable and communicable diseases such as certain cancers and respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
